Brazilian Butt Lift

Brazilian butt lift results from Dr. Gehaan D’Souza in Carlsbad. A BBL uses your own fat — taken by liposuction from the waist, flanks, back or thighs and transferred to the buttocks — so each result here is really two changes in one.

That is worth understanding before you look. Much of the difference comes from the areas that were slimmed, not only from the fat that was added. Look at the waist and flanks as carefully as you look at the projection.

What to look for

The profile and the back view tell you different things. Projection reads from the side; shape, width and the transition into the waist read from behind. If you are bringing a reference photo to your consultation, bring both angles — one view rarely communicates what someone actually wants.

A word on safety

Fat transfer to the buttocks carries real, documented risks, and technique matters more here than in almost any other cosmetic operation. Ask any surgeon you consult — including this one — how they place the fat and what they do to keep it safe. A surgeon who welcomes that question is the one to listen to.
