What is Botox?
Botox is an FDA-approved neurotoxin produced from botulinum toxin. In the cosmetic world, it’s used primarily for the ability to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. Botox injections are medically used to remove wrinkles by temporarily relaxing certain facial muscles. The injection targets frown lines, crow’s feet (wrinkles around the eyes), the ’11’ in between the eyebrows, and horizontal forehead lines.
Botox injections work by weakening or relaxing certain muscle groups in the upper face, or by blocking certain nerves. The effects last about 3 to 12 months, depending on what you are treating. The most common side effects are swelling and bruising at the injection site(s).

What to expect after treatment
Immediately after the treatment, patients will notice minor redness and swelling which will usually subside within 10 minutes. During this time, noticeable results will not be visible. Once you’ve reached the one week mark, you’re likely to see the Botox results, however, it won’t be fully developed until the second week.

How long will the results from Botox last?
Botox, though is an effective method in reducing fine lines and wrinkles is not a permanent solution. The effects typically last anywhere between 3 to 6 months depending on the dosage and patient.
