What is the Iconic Butt Lift?
Fat grafting to the buttocks has become one of the most sought-after plastic surgery procedures in the nation. Over the last few years, the buttocks have received more press coverage than ever before because it is what most people find appealing. Having a slim waistline, round buttocks, and curvature of the hips is a common request of patients due to its popularity stemming from the obvious aesthetic, that is so pleasing to the eye.
The Iconic Butt Lift is a comprehensive procedure that combines standard liposuction with the transfer of the patient’s own, fat from other parts of the body to the buttocks. Fat grafting allows you to reduce a ‘problem area’ while enhancing other areas that may be lacking in volume. The Iconic Butt Lift procedure gives a fuller buttock creating somewhat of an hourglass figure.
Why have an Iconic Butt Lift?
Patients who have buttocks that are lax with loose skin are the best candidates for the procedure. A patient with a flat or asymmetric buttocks can be strategically augmented for a more pleasing contour and shape. Patients usually have these signs or symptoms:
- Flat buttocks
- Sagging buttocks
- Asymmetrical buttocks
- Small (disproportionate) buttocks
- Square like figure
- Large/No waist
What can you expect during the procedure?
The Iconic Butt Lift is performed in the operating room. The incision is hidden in the bikini line and in the skin’s natural creases. All incisions will be discussed in detail with you before starting the procedure. To safely provide you with the best results an anesthesiologist will administer anesthesia during the procedure. Fat extraction is performed by liposuction. Fat processing involves decanting and centrifugation which means, removing fat and only using the good quality of fat (refined fat) for the procedure. The final step is the process of the refined fat injection back into the buttocks, hips, breast, or thighs. Overall the procedure can take anywhere from 2-4 hours.
What can you expect after the procedure?
We provide a protocol to follow after surgery to ensure that you have the best results. Along with our protocol, it is important to note that everyone is different during the healing process, but normally the recovery time is around 2 weeks. You can expect to feel soreness after the surgery but it is important to walk to reduce any possible complications. It is preferable for you to sleep on your belly at night and not on your butt. After surgery, we recommend that you begin walking the same day to reduce the risk of complications.
How long will the results last?
You will see some results immediately. However, the final results of the procedure may take 9-12 months to fully develop as swelling needs time to subside. Some projection may decrease over time as some fat may become nonviable. Some visible scars may remain, but the overall results will be long lasting provided that general fitness and nutritional care are maintained.
